  • Data Protection Notice for Customers and Suppliers

  • We collect and process your data for the purpose of performing contracts, fulfilling our pre-contractual obligations and for direct marketing. The processing is necessary for contract execution and is based on Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR. We do not forward your data to third parties. Data is deleted once it is no longer needed for the purpose of its processing.

  • You may object at any time to the use of your data for direct marketing. You also have the right to request access to the data we hold on you, to request correction, or, if applicable, deletion of data. You may contact us at info@schiffshandlung.de
  •  or by post: Dennis Hansen, Brockmöllers Hof 20, 49509 Recke.

  • You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

  • Data Protection Notice for Website Users

  • We process personal data of website users only insofar as necessary to provide a functioning website and our content and services, generally after obtaining the user’s consent. Exceptions apply when prior consent is not feasible and processing is allowed by law.

  • If processing is based on consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR is the legal basis. If personal data must be processed to fulfil a contract or necessary pre-contractual measures, Article 6(1)(b) applies. If required by law, Article 6(1)(c) may apply. If the processing serves a legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) is used, provided the individual’s interests, fundamental rights or freedoms do not override it.

  • Data will be deleted or anonymised once the purpose of storage is no longer relevant, unless retention is required by EU or national law.

  • Server Log Data

  • Each time our website is visited, our system automatically collects information and logs it. The following data is captured:

  • Browser type and version

  • Operating system

  • IP address

  • Date and time of access

  • Referring URL

  • URLs accessed on our site

  • These data are stored in server log files (without connection to other personal data). The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, for ensuring website operation, security, optimization and analytics.

  • The IP addresses are pseudonymised after a maximum of seven days, or earlier. A merging of log data with other personal data does not take place.

  • Contact Form & Email Communication

  • If you contact us via the website contact form, the following fields are processed: company, name, phone, email, subject, message, and the date/time of submission. The legal basis is consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). If the communication aims at concluding a contract, Article 6(1)(b) also applies.

  • If you contact us by email, we process the email-provided personal data. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, and when applicable Article 6(1)(b). If you withdraw consent or object, the communication can't continue. Stored data are deleted once the conversation is concluded.

  • Disclosure to Third Parties

  • Your personal data is shared with third parties only when necessary for contract fulfilment — for instance, the delivery service handling your shipment or the payment institution involved. In these cases, only the minimal required data is shared.

  • Payment via PayPal: Data necessary for transaction processing are forwarded to PayPal (Europe) S.àr.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22–24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg.

  • Payment via credit card: Data is forwarded to Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., c/o A&L Goodbody, IFSC, North Wall Quay, Dublin 1, Ireland.

  • No other personal data are forwarded beyond these purposes, unless required by law or with explicit consent.

  • Cookies

  • We and our partners use cookies when you visit our site or use our services. A “cookie” is a small file assigned to your device by a website. Cookies support functions such as navigation, preferences, remembering settings, or recognizing your device on future visits. They also enable tailored advertising and user analytics.

  • We use the following cookie types:

  • Session cookies (temporary, deleted when browser closes)

  • Persistent cookies (stored for a specified period, to recognise returning visitors)

  • Third-party cookies (set by external services or analytics providers)

  • Cookies do not directly contain personal data, but may be linked to stored personal data. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings — note, this may limit some website functions.

  • Google Analytics & Data Processing

  • This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited. For users outside the EEA, data might be processed by Google LLC in the USA, but subject to protections (e.g. IP anonymisation).

  • We use _anonymizeIp() to shorten IP addresses and prevent direct personal identification. In rare cases, a full IP may be transferred to a server in the U.S., but is immediately truncated there. Google does not combine analytics data with other Google personal account data.

  • Google acts on behalf of the site owner to generate reports on website usage. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: legitimate interest in optimising the site and analyzing usage patterns. We protect user interests by pseudonymisation of data.

  • You may prevent Google Analytics tracking via browser settings or the opt-out plugin available here: Google Analytics Opt-Out
